Never Lose Your Mask Again! Use of the MCSTM (after one time installation) While your dive gloves are off attach the mask to the hood. When you are ready to don the hood, put the mask on top of the hood and don the hood and mask together. You can also take the hood and mask off together. There is no need to remove the mask from the hood until you are done diving for the day. You can even turn the hood inside out with the mask attached and use the hood as a protective mask case that floats. Once installed, the only way you can lose your mask is if both straps break simultaneously. If you are a shore diver, once the mask is attached to the hood you do not have to worry about having to carry the mask, or have it fall off of your head while you walk to your entry point. While entering or exiting the surf, if your mask gets taken off your face it will not get swept away. While swimming at the surface, if you need to remove your mask you can put the mask completely behind your head without having to worry about a wave unexpectedly removing it from your head. To prevent losing their mask, some cave and technical divers put their mask on before they put on their hood. This causes cold water flushing around their head and the loss of body heat. The MCS solves this problem. If a conventional mask strap breaks the mask can be lost, especially if visibility is low. If an MCS silicone strap breaks the mask will swing to one side of your head, but still be within reach.

I am a dive master and generally do not try gadgets. This product works amazingly well with any face mask. Super easy to install, easy to take your mask on and off. It is a semi to permanent installation of a clip part on each side of your hood. Simply thread the included straps into your mask and you are done. Clip your mask to your hood before or after putting it on. After the dive, you can choose to leave your mask attached when you remove your hood or unclip your mask and then remove your hood. I cannot see how the clips would come undone unintentionally but are easy to remove when you want. If you don't want to dive with your hood, simply put your original mask straps back on your mask and complete your dive. The change from the MCS (Mask Connection System) to normal mask strap and back takes 2-3 minutes. Once installed, your mask is an extension of your hood. I find it pleasant to don my hood, clip on my mask, flip it to the back of my head (cave style) and be ready to help students or others without having to have my Datamask in my hand or setting it down somewhere on the boat exposed to potential damage. Once we are ready to enter the water, I reach up, pull my mask over my head onto my face and I am ready to get wet. You may wonder if you can feel the clips on your ears, you cannot. For shore dives or exposure to surf, you will never again be worried about or have a chance of, loosing you mask to an unexpected wave. For less than 10 bucks, I don't feel there is a better or more useful product out there.
